How to walk on only six of your ten legs, doing a dozen jobs at once for Stewart, or the cutest and most unhealthy dog in the world.
And for the rest of the story
While everyone at Zensho knows about the benefits of living mindfully, no one does it better than Pat. Born and raised on the outskirts of Baltimore, Maryland, our Charm City native is always in the moment, working hard at her ‘Why.’ Which is, quite simply, the happiness of others. So, how did she become this exemplar of presence and benevolence? Pat credits not one guru, but four. The first was her father, who taught her about the capital-letter things in life, such as Honesty, Integrity, and having a strong Work Ethic. The other three are her adopted animal friends – two dogs and a cat –whom, together with their many predecessors, she thanks for her education in how to improve as a human being. That’s a subject in which she could surely give most folks a lesson or two. Because whether she’s making a candidate jump for joy over a new dream job or providing housecleaning services to cancer patients through her NPO, in doing for others Pat considers herself – not them – lucky. Gandhi was referring to just such a worldview when he said, “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Our Pat knows exactly who she is. And we’re sure glad she found us.
